Rain

It has rained all day today, a great day for thoughts, dreams and productivity… Nevertheless, I sat in bed all day reading. To get lost in a book is one of the most delicious and comforting feelings, especially in the holidays where you have nothing to do and nowhere to be. What do other people do though? A rainy day happens every where, so I’m guessing there’s at least a few things people like to do.. I’m interested to hear!

Doing well so far

I received an email this morning from the head of the linguistics department at my university, congratulating me on achieving top marks in New Zealand Sign Language. If this isn’t encouragement to take things further and put my efforts into it, I don’t know what is. I am so excited to continue my journey, and see where my studies take me. Onwards and upwards!

New Zealand

New Zealand. Beautiful, remote, and what I consider one of the most ethnically remote, quiet, small countries in the world. While listening to Kendrick Lamars “Fuck your ethnicity” I stumbled across what I think makes us, us. Our language is formed from a unique combination of Maori and European. Our landscape, while with cities in the midst, is both mountainous and flat. I could go on, and say a lot more, but all I really want to say here is that while beautiful New Zealand has everything, I want to see everyone else’s everything. Show me culture, ethnicity, change, development, and diversity.
